Your retreat is calling— let it begin
You deserve this Tropical Getaway

Kekaikialealea (A new tide of joy is beginning to flow) is a wonderful Kealakekua Bay house, nestled in a lush green tropical paradise, along with banana, papaya and fragrant plumeria flowers. A large green lawn surrounds the family (ohana) home, just a few hundred beautiful steps from the bay. Swim with spinner dolphins, go snorkeling in the bay.

This beautiful spacious retreat home is rented as a 4 bedroom (Option 1) or 6 bedroom (Option 2) home. Enjoy the outdoor shower after a swim, or relax on the upper or lower lanais (patios), sipping Kona coffee, or your favorite wine, sleep listening to the gentle waves come to shore, and awaken to birds singing, “it’s another wonderful day.”

There is an Elevator to the second floor for those in need, as well as an inner and outer staircases into your vacation home.

People from all over the world come here each year to enjoy swimming in the warm clear bay water, snorkeling with colorful tropical fish, turtles, and the spinner dolphins.

Our Hawaiian Home is more than just an Escape, it’s the ideal Getaway for every occasion. It’s great to be arriving with confidence knowing you’ll be enjoying your vacation in our spacious, “up to date” well-built home.

It offers large rooms for everyone to gather, and private areas for private talks and intimate walks.

The Layout

The first floor has 2 bedrooms—each with a queen bed. There is a bathroom and a living room/kitchenette, with a queen futon couch, with a view of the garden and which opens to the lower lanai.

The second floor has 3 bedrooms—one with a king bed, another with a queen and its own bathroom and a third with a double bed. There is an additional hall bathroom, and kitchen which is open to the living room and lanai.

On the third floor you will find the Great room with its gorgeous views of the ocean (makai), Captain Cook’s monument across Kealakekua Bay, the mountains (mauka), and the tropical sky. The Great room is a wonderful classroom and can be used as a dorm room in the evening for more sleeping space. In the great room there are 2 queen beds, one twin and two sleeping mats.

Explore this historic area of the Big Island.... Kealakekua Bay...
a marine sanctuary for dolphins, whales, Honu/sea turtles and amazing colorful tropical fish, and undulating coral that looks like it’s from another universe.

What's Going On With the Volcano?

Witness the flow of the goddess Pele in action at the volcano: Watch the flow of lava cascade down the mountain to the sea.
Check online at the Volcano National Park for daily updates.

Activity Summary: Eruptions continue at Kīlauea Volcano's summit and East Rift Zone and lava from the 61G flow is still flowing into the sea at the Kamokuna ocean entry. The flow poses no threat to nearby communities. The lava lake at Halemaʻumaʻu Crater remains active, with a current height of 41 m (135 ft) below the Overlook crater rim.
